Week 12

Week 12:  I pulled weeds, watered, and harvested some cabbage, an eggplant, some beans, three radishes, and two sunflowers today.  My tomatoes looked really bad and inedible.

Week 11

Week 11:  Today I pulled weeds, fertilized, and harvested some of my vegetables.  It's cool to take home vegetables that I grew, but I am kind of disappointed
in myself.  I was hoping I'd do a better job.  Better luck next time.
Vegetables I brought home: Cabbage, beans, lettuce.  I'm cooking the cabbage tonight.

Week 10

Week 10: This week we only pulled weeds and watered.  Most of the work seems to be done.  My eggplants are growing well, but my tomatoes seem to be lagging behind a little bit.

Week 9

Week 9:  Today there were a lot of weeds to pull, since we didn't go outside last week.  I planted some more broccoli, lettuce, and a sunflower to fill out the rest of my rows.  After that I watered my plants and put up more support for my tomatoes.  I noticed some tomatoes growing, as well as eggplants and beans, which is really cool.  I took a picture of the eggplant but forgot to take more pictures.

Week 8

Week 8:  This week it was too rainy to go outside.  During the lecture, we reviewed how to calculate amounts of nitrogen needed for plants, as well as the time needed to run sprinklers in order to properly water a plot.  We also discussed broccoli and cabbage, and the fact that no one would want to buy a twenty pound cabbage if they were only going to eat a pound of it.  So essentially, it's pointless to produce too large of vegetables.  Also, yellow broccoli apparently does not taste as good.

Week7

Week 7: Today I pulled weeds, planted broccoli, cauliflower, and another vegetable.  I can't remember what it was.  I put manure fertilizer and watered as well.  Overall, my vegetables were all doing pretty well.  The tomatoes looked a little dry, so I made sure to give them extra water.

Week 6

Week 6:  Today I pulled weeds, panted two sunflowers, watered, and sprayed pesticide on the leaves.  The beans were growing well, and the lettuce is too.  The tomatoes were doing okay but looked a little dry.  The eggplants looked very good.
